Duration
1 day sealing, 1 weekday striping
Crew
5 on the seal coat day

How it was executed

Cracks were swept and filled with cold-applied filler first, then the seal coat went on in two coats with a latex additive in the first. A crew of five did the seal coat in one day: a foreman and operator, a second operator, a squeegee laborer, a tank driver and a superintendent.

With the surface ready, the crew chalked the layout of every court and game directly onto the yard, set the striping machines on tarps, and painted the lines and stencils by machine and by hand.

The result

The yard has a fresh dark surface with its courts and games laid out again: four-square, hopscotch, volleyball, a half basketball court, door hash areas and the painted playground graphics.
