School parking lot and playground paving by Forticon in the San Francisco Bay Area.

Who we serve

Paving for schools and churches

Parking lots, playgrounds, drop-off lanes and walkways for schools and churches, finished on time for the first bell or Sunday service.

We pave, repair, seal and stripe parking lots, playground asphalt, drop-off lanes and walkways for schools and churches. Your calendar doesn't move, so we plan every job around the window you actually have, whether that's summer break or the time between Sunday services.

What you are actually solving

The problems this property type brings

Not a list of services. These are the things that make these projects hard, and what we do about each.

  • 01

    Fixed dates

Summer break or the time between services is the whole schedule. We'll get you a price early enough to clear district or diocese approval and still finish before students and families return.

  • 02

    Surfaces children use

Playgrounds and walkways get run and fallen on. A smooth finish with no lips, edges or puddles matters more here than almost anywhere else.

  • 03

    Drop-off and circulation

Drop-off lines, bus routes and crosswalks depend on clear striping and signage. Resurfacing is a good time to fix a traffic flow that has never quite worked.

  • 04

    ADA and accessible routes

Accessible parking, ramps and the route to the entrance must meet the same requirements as any public accommodation.

When the ground is worse than the surface

At Longwood Elementary in Hayward, we removed and replaced 2,300 tons of playground and parking lot asphalt. Once the old pavement was off, parts of the subgrade were too soft to build on, so we treated them with cement and lime before paving. The whole job, including seal coat, was finished within the three-week window.

Seal coat and striping on a school yard

At St. Joseph Elementary in Alameda, we filled the cracks, sealed 18,390 SF of yard in two coats, then repainted the game lines and playground graphics the school already had. The sealing took one day, and the striping one more.

Questions

Schools & Churches: common questions

Can the work be completed over a summer break?

Usually, if it's scoped and approved in time. Even a full removal and replacement like Longwood Elementary's took three weeks.

Can you work around services and events?

Yes. We plan church work around the weekly service schedule so parking is available when your congregation is on site.

Do you build sports courts or running tracks?

No. We work on parking lots, playground asphalt, drop-off lanes and walkways. We can seal an existing school yard and repaint its game lines.
