Who we serve

Public works paving

Street repair and resurfacing for public agencies, built to the agency's specification with traffic and residents still moving.

Our public work includes milling and repaving City of Hayward streets in the Hayward Hills and four City of Oakland streets downtown. We hold a California Class A General Engineering license and know the extra steps agency work brings: fixed specifications, inspection at each stage, traffic control, and residents living on the street being rebuilt.

What you are actually solving

The problems this property type brings

Not a list of services. These are the things that make these projects hard, and what we do about each.

  • 01

    Time and budget limits

Agency budgets are fixed and the schedule is public. We scope the work to be delivered within both, because change orders are much harder to absorb on public work.

  • 02

    Meeting the specification

Materials, depths, compaction and testing are set by the agency. We meet the specification and can show it was met.

  • 03

    Traffic control

Keeping drivers, cyclists and pedestrians moving shapes how much of a street we work on at once.

  • 04

    Inspection and hold points

We build the schedule around inspector availability, which avoids one of the most common causes of lost days.

Full-width milling rather than patching

On Arbutus Court and Quercus Court in the Hayward Hills, we milled 72,000 SF of City of Hayward streets 100 percent to a 2 in depth and repaved them full width, removing the seams that make a patched street ride rough and fail early. Residents were notified before we started, and the work took two days.

Streets in a busy downtown

At 226 13th Street in Oakland, we ground and repaved four City of Oakland streets, 35,350 SF, and put down new thermoplastic markings, keeping public access open throughout under City of Oakland DOT requirements.
